Charles W. Rulapaugh

May 12, 1926 - March 17, 2010



PENDLETON — Charles W. Rulapaugh, 83, Pendleton, died March 17, 2010, at Rawlins House in Pendleton.



He was born May 12, 1926, in Tuxedo, Md., and moved to Pendleton in 2007. Charles served with the United States Navy during World War II, earning an honorable service button, ribbon, and Presidential Unit citation for heroic service on the USS Essex and USS San Jacinto.



He drove a school bus, was a milkman, a professional mover and a plumbing consultant at Menards.



He was a member of Free Evangelical Church in Wisconsin and the Teamster’s Union.



Survivors include his wife, Alice (Kramer) Rulapaugh, whom he married April 24, 1953, in Waukegan, Ill.; daughter, Debra of York, Pa.; sons, John of Denver, Colo., and Charles, Jr. of Pendleton; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Rulapaugh; sister, Mildred Rulapaugh-Marsh; grandson, Adam, stepgranddaughter, Jennifer; and many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, John Charles and Bessie Mae (Owens) Rulapaugh; four sisters and four brothers.



The family has chosen cremation with a private service.



Arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson.
