William F. Todd


Jan. 16, 1926 – March 19, 2010

ANDERSON — William F. Todd, 84, died March 19, 2010, at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Mitchell, Ind., and lived most of his life in Anderson.

He was a retired journeyman electrician who had worked at Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 36 years.

William served his country in the United States Army.

He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Blue Lodge, Lapel Masonic Lodge, Solar Lodge and High Twelve Club of Muncie.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Todd of Anderson and Sherry (Larry) VanTries of Indianapolis; son, William F. (Patricia) Todd of Indianapolis; sister, Betty Joann DeVore of Anderson; grandchildren, Cheryl Walker, Rachel VanTries, Austin Todd, Zachary Todd and Patrick Todd; great-grandchildren, Kiya Turner, Alijah Norris and Teche Norris; and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ruth (Jorris) Todd, who died Oct. 31, 1998; parents, Alverta Mae (Briscoe) and Forrest Paul Todd; and sister, Carol Jean Elmore.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, and will include at 7:30 p.m. Masonic service.

Services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the South Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Zirkle. Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 266.

Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Humane Society, Meadowbrook Baptist Church, or Friends Helping Families.
