Wayne Wheeler Sandlin, 54, of Anderson, died Jan. 4, 2009, at Community Hospital Anderson, after a brief illness.
He served seven years in the U.S. Army. He worked as a corrections officer for the past 23 years, 18 at the Correctional Industrial Facility in Pendleton.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and Bernell Sandlin; sister, Ann and husband Jeff Brandon; a nephew and niece ; uncle and aunt; and other extended family and friends.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Chesterfield Community Church of God, 123 Linden Lane, Chesterfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chesterfield Community Church of God.
