ANDERSON, Ind. — Community offers weight loss program

ANDERSON — Community Hospital will offer an eight-week weight loss class, open to the public. The 30-minute class is taught by a registered dietitian and meets once a week for eight weeks. Meeting dates are Tuesdays at noon from Sept. 21 to Nov. 9. Cost is $75.

Participants will receive education sessions, an individualized meal plan, dining out guide, weigh-ins and one-on-one consultations with a registered dietitian. Space is limited to the first 20 registered individuals and will be held in the Diabetes Care Center located in the lower level of the 1601 Building. Call 298-5193 to register.



Holiday craft show at Mounds Mall

ANDERSON — Area crafters and home businesses are invited to participate in the Christmas Gift and Craft Show to be held Friday through Sunday, Dec. 3-5, at the Mounds Mall. Vendors will have the opportunity to market their products during this fundraiser event sponsored by the Anderson Noon Exchange Club to benefit Bids for Kids, child abuse prevention programs in Madison County.

Booth space is available at $50. Reservations are being accepted now with payment due by Nov. 30.

Parade applications being accepted

FRANKTON — Frankton Heritage Days will celebrate its 35th year in September.

Applications are being accepted for the parade and can be obtained from the website www.heritagedays.org or call Brenda Alexander 754-3218 for forms or information.



Vintage toy show to be held Sept. 19

NOBLESVILLE — Yogi’s Vintage Toy & Diecast Show will be held from 10 am. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 E. Pleasant St.

Archaeology Day at Holliday Park

INDIANAPOLIS — Celebrate Archaeology Month while helping to uncover a unique piece of Indianapolis history at Holliday Park, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alex library plans Wii Wednesdays

ALEXANDRIA —  The children’s department at the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library will begin having “Kids Wii Wednesday” from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sept. 1 and Sept. 8 for students in first through fourth grade.

There are many games to choose from and this activity will be held in the Dan Kellum Community Room.
