ANDERSON, Ind. — A compilation of community news as published in the Monday edition of The Herald Bulletin.

AARP announces upcoming activities

ANDERSON — Anderson’s AARP Chapter will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Perkins Restaurant.

The Chapter’s regular monthly meeting will be Monday, Feb. 11, at First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Speaker will be Denny Lanane of Triad.

The $5 annual dues for 2013 are due now. Individuals belonging to the national AARP are invited to join the local Chapter and enjoy its fellowship and activities.

Reservations are being taken for the local chapter’s trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and the Smoky Mountains, Sept. 12-27. Cost is $449 per person, double occupancy. Call Jane Simmons, chapter president, at 644-2648, for more information.



Indianapolis Home Show ends Feb. 3

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Home Show runs through Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, West Pavilion, Exposition Hall.

The show is the nation’s oldest and the Midwest’s largest home-focused extravaganza with more than 900 exhibits.

Now in its 91st year, the Home Show offers thousands of products, decorating, construction and remodeling ideas for visitors to gather and compare.

Tickets are $13 for adults; $3, children ages 6-12; and children under 5, are admitted free.

Hours are Fridays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
