Ballet troupe to present spring gala
ANDERSON — Tickets are on sale for Anderson Young Ballet Theatre’s “Adventures in Technique.” The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Paramount Theatre, 1124 Meridian St.
The show is the ballet troupe’s spring gala. Tickets are available online at www.andersonparamount.org and at the box office. Tickets are $15 general admission.
Reunion to be held March 12
OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — The Alexandria/Okeechobee, Fla., reunion will be held at noon Tuesday, March 12, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10539-3912, Hwy 441 S E., Okeechobee, Fla.
Anyone from the Alexandria area, past or present living in Florida, retired, permanent or on vacation is welcome to attend. Come and see old friends.

Friends to host monthly book sale
ANDERSON — The Friends of the Library will hold their monthly book sale on Friday and Saturday from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the third floor bookstore at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., Anderson.
This month’s sale includes gently used hardbound and paperback fiction, non-fiction, CDs and DVDs, biographies, children’s, teens and home-schooling books and materials. In a special inventory reduction sale, hardbound and paperback books are greatly reduced in price. The special sale will feature a “dollar a bag” sale. All proceeds benefit the Anderson Public Library’s programs.
Next Welcome Home dinner set for Friday
ANDERSON — The next Welcome Home dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Friday at the Anderson Church of the Brethren, 741 N. Scatterfield Road. The speaker will be Bob Luenebrink of The Path Home.
This is a free dinner for veterans active military and families. RSVP to 649-9231.
Center for Arts holds pottery workshops
ANDERSON — The Anderson Center for the Arts is offering two days of pottery workshops for both youth and adults this spring. Pottery Workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, April 25.

Middletown offers computer classes
MIDDLETOWN — Ongoing adult computer classes are available at the Middletown Public Library.
The instructor is retired Shenandoah High School teacher Jane Young.
Each class has four sessions and cost $10. Classes include: Basic Computering ($5) March 5, 7, 12, and 14; Beginning Word ($10) March 19, 21, 26, and 28; PowerPoint ($10) April 16, 18, 23, and 25; and Excel ($10) April 30 and May 2, 7, and 9. Tom Petty tickets to go on sale Saturday
NOBLESVILLE — Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will headline Klipsch Music Center on Saturday, June 15.
Reserved pavilion and Harrison College Lawn tickets, plus applicable fees, go on sale Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. and will be available at the Taco Bell Box Office at Klipsch Music Center, Livenation.com, Ticketmaster, participating Wal-Mart locations or charge-by-phone at (800) 745-3000.

Community Build celebrates Habitat’s 25th year
Volunteers turned out for a recent Community Build Event marking Habitat for Humanity’s 25th anniversary in Madison County. What started out as a pile of lumber at 8:30 a.m. wound up at noon as the framed walls of Habitat’s latest project home.

Martha Passwater is well-known at the White River Club. She’s known as the 89-year-old who actively enjoys classes at the fitness club. But the Knightstown native and longtime Anderson resident is also known for volunteering at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital and playing golf with the Grandview Ladies League
