Methodist Women have fall meeting
ANDERSON — United Methodist Women’s Fall Windup will be 6:30 p.m. today at Fifth Street Methodist Church, 1124 W. Fifth St.
A guest speaker from Community Hospital will speak on nutrition.
A pitch-in dinner will follow.
After-school tutoring begins Sept. 7
ANDERSON — The Urban League of Madison County will launch its after-school tutoring program Sept. 7 and continuing through the school year. Hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cost is $25 per child and is open to all children from first through 12th grade. For more information and to register, contact Lindsay Brown at the Urban League at 649-7126.
Goodman discusses facades Sept. 7
PENDLETON — Wayne Goodman, director for Indiana Landmark Eastern Regional District, will provide an educational program on facades in a historic district. Goodman will provide information on grants and resources on restoration of buildings.
The program is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, in the Pendleton Community Public Library’s Community Room.

Bingo event to be held Sept. 14
ANDERSON — A Longaberger Basket/Pampered Chef/Vera Bradley Bingo event will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Anderson Firefighters Lodge, 105 W. 53rd St.
Fifteen games are planned. Doors open and food is available starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. Purchase $15 advance tickets by calling 642-6926.
St. Mary’s reunion planned Sept. 17-19
ANDERSON — For those classmates who graduated from any high school in 1970, but attended St. Mary’s at any time during their elementary school years, there will be a get-together during the St. Mary’s Alumni Reunion Weekend, celebrated during the weekend of Sept. 17-19.
It will be a reunion of the 1966 eighth-graders, the year St. Mary’s High School shut down and they all had to go their separate ways. The individual, free get-together will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19. For more information, contact Darlene (Lennartz) Robinson at colinanddarlene@comcast.net.
Final concert/dance set for Sunday
ELWOOD — The final concert/dance of the season will be held Sunday at Callaway Park, Elwood.
From 4 to 6 p.m., the Fords (variety) will perform and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Surrender Dorothy (oldies and classic rock) will entertain.
Rain location is in the shelterhouse at the park. The event is free and family-friendly. Bring your lawn chairs. Concessions will be available.
