Grinch, Santa will pose for pet photos
ANDERSON — Have your pet’s picture taken with Santa or the Grinch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Speck’s Pet Supply, 1819 N. Indiana 9N.
For a $10 donation participants will receive a digital picture and free bag of treats. Proceeds benefit the Animal Protection League.

Wayfarers Club plans New Year’s dance
ANDERSON — The Wayfarers Club of Peerless Lodge is sponsoring a New Year’s Extravaganza Dance “A Red Carpet Affair” on Monday, Dec. 31, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at United Auto Workers Hall 663 Hall, 2840 Madison Ave.
The event will feature Best of Today D.J. Jermaine Hopkins and Best of Yesterday D.J. John Graves Sr. and Lewis Gray Sr.

Eagles Lodge gets ready for New Year’s
ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles Lodge Aerie 174, 1315 Meridian St., will host Miss Sharlet & the Closet Rockers on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Celebrate New Year with hike on Jan. 1
ANDERSON — Usher in the New Year with other outdoor lovers at one of the many First Day Hikes offered Jan. 1 at Indiana’s state parks and reservoirs.
The family-friendly, guided hikes are organized by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Details about hike locations, difficulty, length, terrain and tips regarding proper clothing are listed on the America’s State Parks website, americasstateparks.org/first-day-hikes.
Mounds State Park is one of 20 hike sites in Indiana. Meet at 2 p.m. at the visitors center front porch for an hour-long hike around the Great Mound.
