GOP to host bingo fundraiser
ANDERSON — The Madison County Republican Party will host a Longaberger Basket/Pampered Chef bingo fundraiser Thursday at the Firefighters Lodge, 105 W. 53rd St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Games begin at 6:30 p.m. Cost for 15 games is $20. Attendees must be 18 or older. Call 642-6926 for any questions.
Discussion set on home schooling
PENDLETON — The Indiana Association of Home Educators and the Pendleton Community Library invite the public to a round table discussion on home schooling at 10 a.m. Saturday.
IAHE Region 13 coordinators Jorge and Irene Silva and Pendleton Library children’s librarian Alicia Pitman will present a one-hour program in the Community Room, 595 E. Water St. Call the library at 778-7527 or e-mail ashannon@pendleton.lib.in.us to reserve a space.
Sorority sponsoring annual egg hunt
MARKLEVILLE — Psi Phi Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority will sponsor its annual Easter egg hunt at noon Saturday at Markleville Community Park, Indiana 38. In case of rain, it will be held at the Hardy Building.
There will be three age groups up to age 10. Pictures will be taken with the Easter bunny.
Lapel church to
have fundraiser
LAPEL — Ford Street United Methodist Church, 925 Ford St., will host a Dan’s Fish and Tenderloin Fry on Friday, April 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $9; children ages 6-12 are $5; younger children eat free with purchase of adult meal.

Fish fry to benefit Operation Love
ANDERSON — Operation Love Ministries is having its annual Dan’s Fish Fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Wesley Free Methodist Church, 3017 W. Eighth St.
Proceeds will be used to continue providing assistance to those in need in Madison County.
Tickets are $8.50; $6 for children 6-12 and children 5 and under, eat free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance from Operation Love at 644-2121 or go to operationloveministries.com for information.
Oral, head and neck screenings offered
ANDERSON — Saint John’s Cancer Center, in cooperation with the American Cancer Society, will offer free oral, head and neck cancer screenings on April 10. Each screening is painless and only takes about 10 minutes. Screenings by appointment will be at the Cancer Center, 2020 Meridian St., Suite 100. Limited appointments may be made by calling 642-6603.
Harrison Home offers mysteries
INDIANAPOLIS — The macabre returns to the President Benjamin Harrison Home with “Murder and Mystery in the Mansion,” a new Victorian Theatre by Candlelight production of three one-act mysteries presented among the historical artifacts of the presidential mansion at 1230 N. Delaware St.
The performances are scheduled for April 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and May 1 at 8 p.m., plus a matinee on Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18; $15 for members and seniors. Reservations are required by calling (317) 631-1888.
