Tree to honor veterans

For The Herald Bulletin

ANDERSON — Anderson Public Library is again partnering with the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University to bring the “Our Heroes’ Tree” initiative to the area.

Libraries across the state are participating in this tribute to veterans by placing Heroes’ Trees in their buildings.

On Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m., families and friends of veterans are invited to the Children’s Story Hour Room to celebrate and remember people who have served, or are currently serving, in the armed forces. Share stories and make ornaments to decorate the library’s Heroes’ Tree. Honor anyone from any branch of service, living or deceased.

Ornaments will be displayed on the Heroes’ Tree on the second floor of the library as well as on the research institute’s Web site at www.mfri.purdue.edu/VirtualHeroesSearch.asp.
