Free picture with Santa at candy shop
ANDERSON — Santa will make his annual visit to Good’s Candy Shop on Saturday, Dec. 5, to visit children. Children under the age of 12 may receive free pictures with Santa that day. Refreshments will be available, and Good’s gourmet sipping chocolate may be sampled.
‘Seeking Shalom’ topic for program
ANDERSON — Church Women United will have its Monday prayer fellowship at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at East Lynn Christian Church, 522 E. 53rd St. The program committee will present the human rights celebration theme “Seeking Shalom.”

Cornerstone Center features concert
MUNCIE — On Tuesday, Dec. 8, the Planet Earth Singers and East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra kick off their sixth season with their winter concert. The concert features the Winchester High School Choir; a preconcert features the East Washington Academy Children’s Choir. This will be in the Colonnade Room at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, in downtown Muncie, at 7:10 p.m. Admission is free.
Second Harvest Tailgate at park
ANDERSON — Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana will provide food for families in need at the monthly Tailgate distribution on Wednesday. It will be at Athletic Park, located at the corner of Eighth and Wilcon streets. The distribution is from noon to 2 p.m. while supplies last.
This Second Harvest Tailgate is a collaborative effort between Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana and the United Way of Madison County.
Red Gold donates food for needy
ORESTES — Leading up to Thanksgiving, the first donation for the 2009-2010 Red Gold Red Zone program is over 20,000 pounds of Red Gold tomato products. This will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis. In addition, Red Gold Co. will donate an additional 5,000 pounds due to the WZPL Smiley Radio Show Pumpkin Drop on Oct. 30. Red Gold filled the giant pumpkin with over 465 pounds of Red Gold Ketchup.
Square dance club announces dance
ANDERSON — Footloose Square Dance Club will host a square dance Sunday, Nov. 29.
Square dancers are invited to a dance Sunday at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road. The caller is Gary Hutton and the cuer is Pat Toney. Pre-rounds are at 6 p.m. and square dance from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be a food table with chicken noodles and mashed potatoes.
The club invites anyone interested to learn more about square dancing to come as a guest. They dance on the third and fifth Sunday of each month.
