Choir will entertain retired teachers

Reservations cost $11 per person, due Dec. 9

ANDERSON — The Alexandria-Monroe High School Swing Choir will perform a medley of holiday musical selections during the winter luncheon meeting of the Madison County Retired Teachers Association Monday, Dec. 14, at the Days Inn, 5901 Scatterfield Road.

MCRTA member registration begins at 11:30 a.m. The price of luncheon reservations is $11 per person and reservations must be confirmed by Dec. 9 by contacting Ross Buckman at 643-5462 or by e-mailing rossbuckman@hotmail.com.

At that time, football at AHS was little more than an activity to get out of the way to make room for basketball season. The Indians were known to play two games in the same week to shorten the season.
