Allen Chapel group meets Friday

ANDERSON — The Allen Chapel AME Church’s group, Allen Chapel Community Civic Friday Fellowship, will meet from noon to 1:15 p.m. Friday. The topic of discussion will be “Keeping Safe During the Holiday Season.”

The church is at 1610 Sheridan St. John L. Lambert is pastor.



Alternative gift fair Sunday at Reardon

ANDERSON — An alternative gift fair will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Reardon Auditorium lobby at Anderson University, 1100 E. Fifth St.

Shop from 16 local nonprofit organizations for “virtual” gifts such as a bag of food, medicine for a sick animal or school supplies for underprivileged local children. Participants will receive a wrapped gift card with a description of the gift and the organization to be helped.

Children are welcome and credit cards will be accepted. Gifts are tax deductible and will be matched by donations from local businesses.



Yearbook orders being taken at M-G

FAIRMOUNT — Madison-Grant High School yearbooks are now on sale. Order sheets have been given out to all students. The books may be ordered by mail or by bringing the order to school and given to Mrs. Burton.

December dates set for Angel Food

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 N. Fifth St., will be taking Angel Food orders on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Distribution date is Saturday, Dec. 19, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

TIPS Day to be served up on Friday

ANDERSON — Alternatives Inc. and The Texas Roadhouse will host a Community TIPS Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Texas Roadhouse, 2115 N. Scatterfield Road.

Lunch will be served by local “celebrity” volunteers to raise funds for Alternatives Inc., a shelter for women and children in crisis.

Free Winterfest programs Friday

ANDERSON — David Gillaspy, Anderson Public Library’s resident holiday expert, will present a special Winterfest brown bag lunch titled “Christmas on a Dime” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday in the Miami Room.

Gillaspy will demonstrate how to create special Christmas memories without going broke.

From 2 to 4:30 p.m., all ages are invited to the library for the annual Jingle Jam in the Children’s Story Hour Room. Children will make three holiday crafts, listen to festive music and have an assortment of seasonal books to check out for storytime at home.



Eat all you can at Fazoli’s fundraiser

DALEVILLE — An all-you-can-eat Fazoli’s fundraiser dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Daleville High School cafeteria.

Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for children.
