Red Hat group

meets Saturday

ANDERSON — The December meeting of the WOW Red Hat group will be held Saturday. The group will meet at 5 p.m. at the Meridian Street Bar and Grill for dinner. Members with tickets will then attend the Anderson Symphony Orchestra Christmas concert at the Paramount Theatre at 7:30 p.m. It is recommended to arrive early to see the decorations and bid on gifts during the silent auction. Annual passes

make great gifts

ANDERSON — Not sure what gift to buy for that someone special? Get the 2010 Annual Gate Pass from Indiana State Parks and Reservoirs. This pass allows entrance to all Indiana state parks and reservoir for the entire 2010 year. For Indiana residents, the cost is $36 and the Golden Hoosier annual gate pass (for ages 65 and up) is $18.

The pass can be purchased in the Visitor Center at Mounds State Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday or at any state park or reservoir main office (call for hours.)

Frankton choirs to present program

FRANKTON — Join the Frankton Jr. Senior High School Choirs for an hour of Christmas entertainment at 7:30 Wednesday in the Eagles Nest gymnasium. The Junior High Choir, High School Choir and FHS Show Choir will be singing holiday classics.

Donations will be accepted to help the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Frankton Food Bank. Admission is free.



Learning Tree to have open house

ANDERSON — The Learning Tree Daycare Ministry of East Lynn Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 522 E. 53rd St., invites the public to an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Robyn Stinson, director, and the day-care teachers will welcome parents and children for a holiday time of crafts, games, fellowship, tours and singing. Refreshments will be served.



Christmas Dinner fundraiser Saturday

FRANKTON — The Frankton Community Christmas Dinner fundraiser will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Family Life Center.

Admission is $6 for adults ($5 for advance purchase); $3 for children 10 years and under, and those under the age of 3 eat free.



Cross Roads to present play

ANDERSON — Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road, will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free. A freewill offering will be taken after the play.



AHS drama presents ‘Jake’s Women’

ANDERSON — “Jake’s Women” a comedy/drama by Neil Simon will be presented at 7 p. m. Friday and Saturday at the Anderson High School auditorium by the AHS drama department. Tickets are $5 but the event is free for AHS faculty and staff.
