IU fans invited to Hoosier Park
ANDERSON — The Madison County Chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association invites all IU fans and their guests to an evening of food, racing, gambling and fun at Hoosier Park Racetrack and Casino on Friday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pre-registration is not required but you must be 21 or older. Attendees get a $5 food voucher and a $5 gambling voucher.

Alex Class of 1963
to meet on Sept. 14
ALEXANDRIA —The Alexandria-Monroe Class of 1963 will meet for breakfast at the Lighthouse Cafe in Alexandria at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14.
All classmates are encouraged to attend these informal get-togethers.
Classmate Carvil Crume will perform at the Lighthouse on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m.

Friends of Mounds to meet Thursday
ANDERSON — There will be a monthly meeting of the Friends of Mounds State Park on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Nature Center. The Friends also will help the park with Pioneer Days on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
Footlite brings ‘Producers’ to stage
INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals opens the main stage portion of its 55th season with “The Producers” on Sept. 17, with additional performances Sept. 18, 24, 25 and 26 and Oct. 1, 2 and 3. The musical will be presented at the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 N. Alabama St., Indianapolis. Curtain time for the Friday and Saturday performances is 8 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. for the two Sunday matinees.
All seats are reserved, and reservations can be made by calling (317) 926-6630. Admission is $17 for adults, $15 for senior citizens (65 and older) and $15 for students (13 through college age). “The Producers” is suggested for mature audiences only. Pioneer Days set at Mounds for Saturday
ANDERSON — Join the Friends of Mounds State Park for Pioneer Days at the park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held at the historic Bronnenberg house, the day’s events include pioneer games, butter making, household chores practice, crafts and LIFE organ music. A farmer will be cooking a fresh pot of ham and beans and will offer free samples. Old-fashioned popcorn will be cooked over an open fire.
Come back Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for an 1800s historic church service, with refreshments and fellowship afterwards. Some bench seating is available, but bring a lawnchair or blanket.
The programs are free and open to the public, after paying the $5/carload gate fee. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Call the Interpretive Center at 649-8128 for more information.
Anderson Class of 1947 sets reunion
ANDERSON — Class members, friends and veterans of the Anderson High School Class of 1947 will celebrate the class’s 63-year reunion with a pitch-in luncheon on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the 4-H building in Alexandria. For more information, call Emilie Isenhour at 643-4772.
