Greek’s Pizzeria to have grand opening
ANDERSON — Greek’s Pizzeria, 1909 University Blvd., will have its grand opening today from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There will be live music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Highland yearbooks now available
ANDERSON — The 2009-2010 Highland High School yearbooks are available at Anderson High School from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
If you ordered a personalized yearbook, you will need to contact Laura Harless at 641-2037, Ext. 2055, to schedule a time to pick up your book.
Extra yearbooks will be sold Thursday between 10:15 and 11:30 a.m.
If you are unable to make it during this time, you will need to contact Harless. The price is $55 and checks are payable to AHS. Quantities are limited. The 2009-2010 Anderson High School yearbooks have not arrived yet.
Fish, chicken served at Bethesda Temple
ANDERSON — Fish or chicken dinners will be served at Bethesda Temple, 315 Martin Luther King Blvd., beginning at 9 a.m. Friday. The meal is sponsored by the church’s anniversary committee.
Cost for the fish dinner is $7.50 and will include slaw, spaghetti, cake and beverage.
The chicken dinner is $6.75 and includes green beans, macaroni and cheese, cake and beverage.
Daleville holding truck pull Sept. 18
DALEVILLE — A truck pull will be held Sept. 18 behind Daleville Elementary, 8600 Bronco Drive. Weigh-in begins at 4 p.m. with the pull at 6 p.m. Participants pay a $25 hook fee and $5 for a pit pass.
Viewer cost is $10 a car. Bring lawn chairs. The event is sponsored by the Salem Township/Daleville Emergency Services.

Friends of Mounds to meet Thursday
ANDERSON — There will be a monthly meeting of the Friends of Mounds State Park at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Nature Center.
The Friends will also be helping the park with Pioneer Days on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
Artists coming for Second Saturday
ALEXANDRIA — The Church Street Gallery, 108 E. Church St.,will host two artists for the downtown Second Saturday event Sept. 11 beginning at 1 p.m. in Harrison Square Park, located at the corner of Harrison and Church streets.
Lisa Swift and Gail Schmidt will set up their easels and paint for spectators both inside and outside the gallery.
Schmidt paints in oils. Swift is an art instructor at Pendleton schools.
Jackson speaker at bereavement group
ANDERSON — Judy Jackson will be the speaker at the Bereavement Support Ministry of Bethany Christian Church at 7 p.m. Thursday. Her topic will be “The Healing Ear of Compassion.”
This session will be in the Friendship Room of the church, 1920 N. Rangeline Road.
The meetings are free and refreshments and fellowship conclude each meeting.
