INDIANAPOLIS —
The New York Giants have been working out all week in a practice bubble on the University of Indianapolis campus.
“Outstanding facility, absolutely outstanding,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. “What I like about it is that the college teams here have been working out (in the facility) all fall, so the (FieldTurf surface) has been broken in well. It’s settled in and it’s in great shape.”
We call tails
Giants linebacker Zac DeOssie said this week that he plans to call tails during the pregame coin flip Sunday night.
DeOssie is New York’s special teams captain.
Getting cocky?
Coughlin didn’t take too kindly to questions Friday that concerned the Giants’ confidence heading into the matchup with New England. Might New York be feeling a little full of themselves right about now?
“I’m not sure what you’re referencing. I know that there are one or two quotes (from New York players) out there. But to me honest with you, I don’t know that either one of them is any different than (Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s comments at a pep rally last Sunday),” the Giants coach said. “I think it’s just a matter of our team has played good football against a great football team. We always focus our team on confidence enough to get there (the Super Bowl) and confident enough to get back. That’s the way we look at it.”
All ready to go
The Giants should be healthy and ready to go for Super Bowl XLVI.
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw is nursing a foot injury and defensive end Osi Umenyiora has been bothered by a sore ankle and knee. Linebacker Jacquian Williams, cornerback Corey Webster and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, along with Bradshaw and Umenyiora, are all set to go.
“Everyone wants to be part of it at this point of time. No one wants to be someone who is not able to participate or to be a part of this wonderful experience,” the New York coach said. “We’ve had everyone practice two days in a row. And, hopefully, it will be that way on Sunday.”
