Goshen men die after car veers into watery ditch

The Associated Press

GOSHEN — Two Goshen residents died after their car ran off a road and into a water-filled ditch, then overturned and became partially submerged.

Elkhart County police say the 31-year-old driver, Brandon Blosser, and his 34-year-old passenger, Jason Mast, were pronounced dead at the scene four miles south of Elkhart.

Police say the car veered off County Road 9 about 1:45 a.m. Saturday and entered a ditch containing water, flipped over onto the top side and was partially submerged in the water.

The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team is trying to determine why the vehicle veered off the road and whether the men were wearing seat belts.
